The Belvedere of the house in the woods is located on the right side of the main valley of Champorcher. After parking in the beautiful Chardonnay pine forest, you start walking by crossing the stone bridge over the crystal-clear waters of the Ayasse stream. Then, turn right onto the wide dirt road that runs along the right side of the stream. If you look carefully at the water, you can often spot alpine trout, so keep a sharp eye! After about a hundred meters, turn left onto a narrower dirt road that cuts through the larch forest to the left. The road makes a few switchbacks in the forest. Here, pay attention to the wooden sign (which will appear on your right) indicating "Belvedere" and marking the beginning of trail no. 4L. If you don't see the sign on the tree, be careful not to cross the gully (characterized by sparse trees and a stream), but stop before it and locate the sign. Once you find the trailhead, continue walking on the left side of the gully, climbing the trail through the dense forest. The trail remains continuous to the Belvedere, so there are no forks along the way. You can enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds you, typical of alpine undergrowth, without worrying too much about getting lost. The trail climbs steadily with several switchbacks, offering a unique view of the flora and fauna of the Frumire forest, a typical larch forest. Once you reach the Belvedere, you can stop near the old alpine pasture, now surrounded by a sparse forest, and enjoy the view of the Champorcher valley. From here, you will notice that the alpine pastures where Valdostana cows spend most of their summer outdoors are still visible in front of you. Take your time to savor the tranquility of this place and imagine going back in time. Who knows what the Belvedere area was like a few hundred years ago; perhaps there were also cows grazing here? The descent is made on the same route as the ascent.
