Walking through the small village of Chateau, discover the ancient crenellated tower, which will take you back to medieval times, to when the Champorcher valley was torn apart by a fratricidal war between Hugh and William, powerful lords of Bard. Popular tradition has it that there was originally a real castle, on whose ruins the present church would later rise. Set atop a fortress it was also used as a signal tower.
